KONAMI acquires UEFA EURO 2016 video game license

With all the good news that we got from Gamescom today there had to be some bad news as well.

Konami confirmed that they have acquired the UEFA EURO 2016 exclusive license but will not be featured in PES 2016, so most probably there will be a separate game release. This is a huge blow to EA Sports as they have been the official game creator for the EURO series since 2000.

Konami also announced a few months ago that they have the exclusive licenses over Champions League and Europa League, killing any hopes of seeing these tournaments in the FIFA series for the next three years. Moreover, Corinthians and Flamengo, two of Brazil’s most popular clubs, confirmed that they have signed an exclusive deal with Konami putting in danger the return of the Brazilian League in FIFA 16.

Is EA losing ground on the license aspect? Share your thoughts bellow.
